Gray Catbird

Most of the Gray Catbirds in Mead Garden were gone by May 10, 2013, except for this one. I have seen this bird in the same area all Winter and I still see the bird every few days. It was still there today. Seems like it’s very late to begin migration. I’m always happy to see this Catbird.

Cooper’s Hawk Fledgling

Photographed on May 24, 2013 in Mead Garden, Winter Park, Florida. I saw this bird and it’s sibling fly back to the nest tree where another sibling was waiting. All three were making a cat-like call and one of the parents would respond with a call.

I thought all the Catbirds had flown North. This is the first one I’ve seen in six days.  It was really nice to see this bird. The Catbird had been eating Elderberries.
