River Otter

Photographed in Mead Garden, Winter Park, Florida on May 04, 2010. I started my morning at Mead Garden watching three River Otters swimming up Howell Creek feeding. They eventually climbed onto dry land  and started rolling around in the sand. They were having such a good time. It was too shady to get good photos.

Juvenile Barred Owl

A few minutes after enjoying the River Otter Show I walked further down the path and saw the Juvenile Barred Owl sitting on a limb about two feet off the ground.

The Owl studied me for a moment and flew to a nearby tree.

I then decided to Walk the Boardwalk. About 30 feet onto the boardwalk the Cardinals were raising quite a fuss. It didn’t take long to find the reason. One of their little ones had just fledged. The little bird could fly 3-5 feet at a time. He was  so cute.

I was about 30 feet away from the little one & I didn’t stay long.
