The Florida Scrub-Jays were photographed near Minneola, Florida on December 21, 2009. The Scrub-Jays were so friendly. Three different times they hopped over to where I was standing and scratched around in the grass till they found an insect to eat. They got as close as 1 foot away. I was amazed. This was one of the best days of birding for me. I was honored to hang with them in their World for over an hour. I saw 3 Florida Scrub-Jays, 1 stood guard on a Electric line while the other 2 searched for food.

Some of these birds Winter in Central Florida. I saw 8 of them in a tree at the same location as the Scrub-Jays. I also saw a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher in the same tree but it took flight before I could get a photo.
