Vermillion Flycatcher

Photographed on February 14, 2012 in Orlando Wetlands Park, Christmas, Florida.

These birds are very rare for Florida. They are normally found in the SW United States and Mexico.

Two Males were first seen in mid-November. The park was closed to the public at that time and re-opened on February 01, 2012. The two Flycatchers are several hundred yards away from each other. I heard yesterday that there may be a third Vermillion Flycatcher in the park. The birds are located about a mile from the parking lot. Everyone working there can direct you to where theĀ  birds can be found.

Orlando Wetlands Park is a must-see if you are in Florida to see Birds or enjoy Nature.
